Barns Family in Westmoreland.

Just finished updates to the Munn Family Events page.  The Munn and Barns family are tied together thru the Menktelow family.  Some interesting articles on Barns history and family reunions.  Amos Barns grandfather, Nathaniel Barnes Sr, 1740-1790?, is listed on the DAR site as A006378, a privateer and he helped evacuate Long Island after Washington was driven out.

The DAR site uses Barnes but all the newspaper references I've found from the 1800 use Barns.  I'm afraid both surname are used in by tree.  Both appear in a findagrave.com search of Oneida county.

Munn family in Westmoreland, NY

Just added a new page to Family Events for the Munn family.  These articles tie together the Munn, Manktelow and Barns families.  These are some of the oldest families in Westmoreland.  They are included in the Hull tree on ancestry.

I couldn't find all the obits that I felt should be fultonhistory.com but I'll keep looking.  Just a little twist to the search term can do the trick.  A world of difference between John B Munn, John Munn and JB Munn.

I've also added a page for Wales but I was unable to find much.

A mixture of snow and rain today.  This winter will not let go.

Walker Family Events

Long time, no post.  My only excuses are bad weather and being sick for all of December and half of January.  The Thousand Island Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is growing and I have spent a lot of time getting some applications in order.  This involves creating a tree for the applicants family and finding some documentation to prove the bloodline.

I've added a new family to the Family Events section of my web site.  The name shown in Walker but it also has Gookins, Abbe, Tice, Chase and Bicknell.  This family file ties into the Hull file through Mary Ellen Walker marring Elisha Milton Hull.

Spring training game are being played so warm weather is on it's way. Hurry!!
